POTD: 9.1.10

1 Sep

It’s September already? What?

Man it’s been busy! Plays! Films! Weddings! Miscellaneous Errands!

It’s hard to keep track of it all sometimes…

Another busy weekend is coming up, kicking it off with two weddings Friday, a movie trailer on Saturday, a short film on Sunday, and throughout it all I will also be coordinating costumes for Open Circle Theatre‘s latest production Arcana.

Am I crazy? Maybe.

Things like this keep me inspired.

POTD: 8.7.10

7 Aug

Here’s to another busy weekend of filming on set of Howard from Ohio! It’s been a busy week, but fun.
Being busy is good, usually.

I’ve got movies on my mind.

Speaking of movies… I was browsing the web last night after I got home and came upon this picture of Harry Potter star Emma Watson.

Looks like she’s taken on a bold new look à la Twiggy.
Being a fan of short-cuts myself, I think she looks great! It’s bold, but a good change for her I think.

Well, gotta hurry up and get ready to leave for set soon! Catch you all later!

When Delirium Sets In

14 May

This past couple of weeks have been especially busy.

On top of photo shoots, working, and the every day hustle, my boyfriend and I recently moved in to a new apartment just blocks from the ever-exciting Broadway on Capitol Hill. Going on an average of about 3 hours of sleep a night, we moved all of our junk into our new place and are finally settling in.

Needless to say, I’m exhausted, but so glad for the weekend.

Last time I posted, I was discussing my most recent creative project with friend Sean Watson, we had one shoot under our belt then, and now we’re up to three and a half (half because we had a sick model and had to send her home). Things are really getting rolling, and the creative juices are flowing. I’m tired, but so very excited for the direction this project is going. Here’s a most recent sneak peek of what Sean and I did with model Taylor Hook last week, I think this image is just beautiful.

Taylor is half African-American, and Caucasian, and has a gorgeous facial structure. I wanted to create a greek-goddess look with her so pulled her hair up loosely and inserted white origami lilies into her hair. Then I tore up sheets of plain muslin to create the ragged look of the fabric and draped it around her. For make-up I lightened her skin and added a golden shimmer to it as well as a light dusting of  coral color to her cheeks, the same coral for her lips and gold cream shadow for her eyes.

This is by far one of the most beautiful set of images I’ve had the pleasure to help create, and I’m so happy with how this shoot turned out.

I can’t wait to do even more, keep tuned for more images and sneak peeks during the next two weeks!

P.S.

In other news, I’ll be heading over to Ouch My Eye Gallery in SoDo tonight at 7 for the STIFF premiere of the short film I worked on called Teething, as well as several other shorts. You can find more info on it here! See you there?

Another Quick Update – Vlogcast 12

13 Apr

A short little update on what I have been doing lately. Photoshoots, movies, job hunting, apartment hunting, so much fun!

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes!

22 Feb

Here’s to a new week, and new adventures!

Happy Monday to you all.

I’ve got quite a lot of news to share, and boy is it some BIG news.

BIG news #1 – I have made the decision to leave school at the Art Institute.

Now, I know what all of you are thinking… “WHY?! Why would you leave school Michelle?”

Well, I have several reasons.

For one, it was quite a lot of money for (at least how I felt) not much in return.
Two, I didn’t feel like I was quite fitting in.
Three, I felt that I could learn pretty much the same things they were teaching there for less than half the price elsewhere.
Four, communication was a mess, between teachers, financial aid, everything, it just seemed so disorganized sometimes.

Now I know that this is a big deal, and a big change, but I feel that it is for the best.
I am happy with this decision, and I am excited to get a fresh new start.

So, what am I gonna do now?

Well, for now, I am going to work as much as I can.

Then, hopefully in the Spring or Summer I will start taking online classes at Seattle Central and study business or marketing.

Now, in other news, I know I haven’t shared much with you in the past few weeks about what I’ve been up to, but hopefully that will change very soon.

This next week I’ll work very hard to update you on what I’ve been doing with lots, and lots of purrrty of pictures, and hopefully even some videos!

Now to news #2!

The short film I worked on a few months ago, TEETHING, has come to completion and the screening is in two weeks!

I am so very, very, excited.

Now, as a shameless plug here’s the TEASER TRAILER, and I also cordially invite you to come to the screening happening on Monday, March 8th at 7 pm at the ACT Theatre Bullitt Cabaret.

It is FREE FREE FREE (unless you want to make a donation for Festival entries), so come! And hopefully I will see you there!

Enjoy…

A Long Overdue Update…

6 Feb

These past few weeks since my last post have been filled with mild panic, sleep deprivation, plenty of work, and some occasional fun.

So what exactly have I been up to this month?

Well…

I am now working on several film projects as a make-up artist, one a feature, and another a short.
Also, a couple weeks ago, I worked on a trailer for a film at a location I had worked at before out in Des Moines, Washington.

I’ve also done a little more modeling, as well as some acting: this is all on top of my homework of  much designing, writing, and sketching for school.

Yes, things have been rather busy lately, but that’s how I like it.

I think I’ll be keeping this post short tonight.

However, keep an eye out this next week for some more updates, photos, and videos from my recent projects!

For now, here’s a little teaser…

My friend Sean and I had ourselves a mini shoot a few weeks ago for his online magazine project Peer Pressure.
The next issue comes out this Valentines, so keep your eyes peeled!

TEETHING – Teaser Photos

23 Oct

So, as I had said in my vlogcast earlier today, I was going to provide some very beautiful photos for you all to see of all the hard work everybody in the cast and crew put into the Teething project.

The photo you see above was taken by my wonderfully talented friend Hannah Marie Hayes, and there are few more teaser photos if you click here on this link below which will take you to Hannah’s flickr page:

More Teething Teasers

I cannot even begin to describe what an experience it has been to work on this project, it was truly an amazing opportunity. It was definitely hard work, but so very very worth it. It is beautiful, and I can’t wait for the whole world to see it.

Enjoy!
