Vlog – I’m Back! …Again!

30 Dec

Yes, it’s been quite a while again, but there’s big news and big changes. I’ve got a baby coming along now, and a fresh new start next year. So much excitement, and so much to look forward to.

Finally…the Announcement

20 Nov

Another month has seemed to fly by… It’s funny how quickly time passes when you’re not paying attention.
Now a little time for reflection… and finally, the announcement I’ve been hinting at for what seems like months now.

As you may be able to see from the photo with this post, I have a little bun in the oven.

The Bun in the Oven

ETA – March 2011.

Yes, it may seem a little late for me to be making this sort of announcement, but hey, I’ve had a lot on my plate.

On top of school, and work, I’ve also been planning for this new member of the family.

In addition, I’ve been trying to formulate the right words to describe everything that is changing and developing in my life as of now.

It’s a little scary, to be honest. My entire life has taken a new direction, and a lot more changes are coming my way.
You can only really be so prepared for having a child, yet there’s still so much more you can never plan for.
Despite it all, it’s definitely a load off my shoulders to know I have a supportive family and boyfriend to help me.

I consider myself very lucky.
Not everybody has the love and support that I have.

Finding out was definitely a shocker; I mean, a baby wasn’t on my, or my boyfriend’s agenda for at the very least a few more years. Yet, here we were, being handed what could be arguably the greatest gift mother nature could give, even though it may not have felt like that at the beginning. As frightening as it all was, we settled that we were prepared to take on the challenge; we weren’t going to take the easy way out. We’d have the baby, and we’d raise it together.

I wasn’t sure what kind of reaction to expect when telling my friends and family, but to my relief. Everybody I spoke with was surprised, but supportive, even excited. I wasn’t being judged, they were happy for me, and that felt really good.

It’s also nice to be told they think I’d make a good mother, and I hope I will be.

So this announcement may lead to a lot of questions… and rightly so.

Will I continue my makeup and styling work? What are my future plans?
What’s going to change?
What’s going to stay the same?
What in the world is going on in my head?

I ask myself those questions almost every day.

For one, I definitely plan to continue my makeup and styling work. It’s my passion, and I want to do it for the rest of my life. Now, I’ll just have a little more to juggle, but I think I’ll be prepared for it with proper planning and coordinating with my boyfriend.
There are a lot of things I still am trying to figure out as far as my future.

There’s the question of Cosmetology school; will I take time off and finish later, or just power through? I think I’ll have to play it by ear. School is definitely still a top priority for me.
Luckily for my work situation, freelance is a perfect occupation because I can make my own schedule. It’ll definitely come in handy with a baby in tow, and like I said before, it also helps to have friends, boyfriend and family willing to lend a hand.

There are so many things going through my mind every day. I mean, frick! I’ve got a baby coming in 4 months!
It’s exciting, it’s frightening, it’s life-affirming, it’s so many things.

I can’t even imagine what it’ll really be like, it’s all still so surreal at some points.

I definitely hope to keep writing and talking about developments and baby-ness as the months go on.

Lot’s of changes are on the way…

Hope you all join me for the ride.

Time is flying…

Well, I survived my first week of Cosmetology School, but unfortunately I’m out sick today with a cold.

Hopefully I’ll recover and get back to the swing of things tomorrow…

In the meantime… ’tis the season for spooks.

Has everybody figured out their costumes yet? I’m still thinking of ideas…

Back to the VLOG!

29 Sep

I know it’s been quite a while… here’s a very quick update from me to you!

More to come soon!

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes!

22 Feb

Here’s to a new week, and new adventures!

Happy Monday to you all.

I’ve got quite a lot of news to share, and boy is it some BIG news.

BIG news #1 – I have made the decision to leave school at the Art Institute.

Now, I know what all of you are thinking… “WHY?! Why would you leave school Michelle?”

Well, I have several reasons.

For one, it was quite a lot of money for (at least how I felt) not much in return.
Two, I didn’t feel like I was quite fitting in.
Three, I felt that I could learn pretty much the same things they were teaching there for less than half the price elsewhere.
Four, communication was a mess, between teachers, financial aid, everything, it just seemed so disorganized sometimes.

Now I know that this is a big deal, and a big change, but I feel that it is for the best.
I am happy with this decision, and I am excited to get a fresh new start.

So, what am I gonna do now?

Well, for now, I am going to work as much as I can.

Then, hopefully in the Spring or Summer I will start taking online classes at Seattle Central and study business or marketing.

Now, in other news, I know I haven’t shared much with you in the past few weeks about what I’ve been up to, but hopefully that will change very soon.

This next week I’ll work very hard to update you on what I’ve been doing with lots, and lots of purrrty of pictures, and hopefully even some videos!

Now to news #2!

The short film I worked on a few months ago, TEETHING, has come to completion and the screening is in two weeks!

I am so very, very, excited.

Now, as a shameless plug here’s the TEASER TRAILER, and I also cordially invite you to come to the screening happening on Monday, March 8th at 7 pm at the ACT Theatre Bullitt Cabaret.

It is FREE FREE FREE (unless you want to make a donation for Festival entries), so come! And hopefully I will see you there!

Enjoy…

New Years Resolutions

3 Jan

Here’s a video blog from me today!
I know I haven’t posted a video in a while, so this is for those especially that like to watch my (albeit boring) videos.

A few updates on my recent projects, as well as some of my New Years Resolutions.

Enjoy.

P.S. More photos from recent projects will be coming soon!

Holiday and Makeup Madness

22 Dec

Yes, I have returned.

Back home for the holidays and slowly regaining my sanity.
In the next few days I will be gradually pulling myself back into the blogging and vlogging world.

My first quarter at the Art Institute ended with few hiccups, but I’m happy with what I accomplished and I’m happy to be done.

…for now.

Now that the majority of my Christmas shopping has been accomplished (Mom? Check. Dad? Check. Boyfriend? Check…), I expect this winter break will be full of relaxing, outright laziness, and the accomplishing of very little besides eating, sleeping, and occasionally going out into public.

To be quite honest, this sounds like perfection.

So, what have I been up to?

Well, I’ve had a few occasional photo shoots, plenty of school, as well as my first music video!

Here are a few images from my first shoot with Mac and Ange from Zombie Crush, mid-November, such a fun (cold!) day with amazing and talented people.

Got to show a bit of my creative side and I really got to stretch my imagination with colors and shapes for Maria’s makeup. I am so excited and happy with how all the photos turned out!

I’ll be posting more images and details from my recent shoots in the next few days!

For now, keep warm, and hope you’re enjoying your holidays!
